FAQ

Chris, what is your process?

Answer:

I keep half an eye

on the thoughts

and feelings

that pass through my body

as I go about my business

Half an eye

Not full eye contact

If I notice

that I am watching myself

nothing interesting happens

so

just a quiet

half an eye

and

if some interesting does happen

I try to stay quiet

so I do not disturb it

as it emerges

It will blow in

weightless

like a dandelion seed

and

if I grab at it

I will blow it away

I watch it

play

on the current of air

that I can not perceive

with my hand outstretched

hoping it might land on me

I try to remember

how this feels

I am often outside

when this happens

There is something

about being outside

that helps

me connect

with myself

with everything

If I have time

to stop

I will take note

right there and then

whilst

the thought

or feeling

still glows

and

sparkles

for the first time

If I have time

I go straight

into my studio

and try to

map the moment

before it blows away

—------

I like to make art

when I want to make art

When it finds me

and

not make art

because I should

—-------

Note to self:

Spend more time outside

with other people

and

also

quietly

by myself
