On a train home with the Sun in my eyes

Someone asked me what my new book is about

and I wasn’t sure exactly what to say

I’ve got my thoughts together now

and in no particular order

it is about:

The Sun shining in your eyes

Having a beach to yourself in winter

Being young

Getting older

The rhythm of sunlight flickering through trees as you pass on a train

The islands close to the Arctic known as Britain

Sun shining onto a building

The sunset from Margate

Letting your mind wander

Realising that nature has always been in your life

Realising that art has always been in your life

The Black Backed Gull

Rock pools as entire universes

Smiling*

The Sun shining

 

On A Train Home With The Sun In My Eyes

will hopefully feel like music once you hold it in your hands

will hopefully let you fall into its pages and disappear

will hopefully leave you feeling like you have been watching the Sun set

is due out autumn 2025
